We look after our customers and this competition is for them. You'll need an active Octopus Energy account on supply to be eligible.

You'll receive two SXSW music badges. These badges grant you primary entry to SXSW's legendary Music Festival showcases, music programming, mentor sessions, and workshops at the SXSW Conference, Comedy Festival showcases, plus secondary access to most Interactive and Film & TV programming.

SXSW will be taking place in Austin, Texas from March 7th through the 15th.

No, you will be responsible for getting to SXSW and your lodging accommodations.

Enabling autopay is easy and takes away the stress of needing to remember to pay your bill every month. Here's how to do it:

From your Octopus app:

  • Open your app and tap "Bills"
  • Tap "Payment settings"
  • Tap "Update payment details"

  • Login to your Octopus account

Terms and Conditions

General

  • The promotion will be run by Octopus Energy LLC., REP License #10262
  • These terms and conditions, together with any specific rules set out in any communications relating to the competition, are the competition rules (“Rules”) and apply to this competition. By entering this competition, you are agreeing to be bound by these Rules and any other applicable instructions.  Void where prohibited by law.
  • Octopus Energy reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition and/or the Rules without prior notice. Any changes will be posted on our website at https://octopusenergy.com/sxsw-customer-contest  
  • In the event of any dispute regarding any aspect of the competition, the decision of Octopus Energy shall be final.
  • This competition is governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict of law principles.  Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Texas.

Competition Entry

  • There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter this competition. Entrants must be 18 or over. Only Octopus Energy customers who are residents of the United States can take part in the competition.
  • To enter the competition, you must submit your name along with your Octopus Energy account number. 
  • Customer may gain one additional entry for each of the following: autopay billing enabled at the time of entrance, one smart device connected to Intelligent Octopus at the time of entrance, enrolled in the OctoRivian plan, and a Google Review for Octopus Energy US with your referral code name in the body of the review to verify the additional entry. 
  • Only one submission per Octopus account. 
  • Submissions will open on Friday, February 14 and close at 23:59 on Thursday, February 20th. 
  • One winner will be selected through a random drawing on or about February 21, 2025. Octopus Energy will contact the winner at their contact information contained on their account. Winner has three (3) business days to get in touch with Octopus Energy to finalize acceptance of the prize.  Should the winner fail to adequately respond within the timeframe, an alternate winner may be selected.
  • By entering the competition, you warrant that all information submitted by you is true, current and complete. If any information you submit is found to be fraudulent or incorrectly completed or if Octopus Energy has reasonable grounds to believe that you have breached any of the Rules, Octopus Energy reserves the right to disqualify you from the competition.
  • None of the employees, or family members of employees at Octopus Energy or any of its holding companies, subsidiaries or affiliate companies, their agents, or those of their respective group companies may take part in the competition.
  • No liability is accepted for entries that are not received by Octopus Energy for any reason.  By entering into the competition, you agree to release and hold harmless Octopus Energy, its affiliates and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from any and all claims or liability arising from participation in the competition or acceptance of any prize.
  • The competition is free to enter. Octopus Energy will not be liable to reimburse any expenses incurred with entering the competition.

Tickets

  • The winner will receive two (2) General Admission full weekend tickets to SXSW, with an approximate retail value ("ARV") per ticket of $969. The total approximate ARV of all prizes is $1938. Prizes are non-transferable, and no cash redemption or prize substitution is allowed, except at Octopus Energy’s discretion.
  • General Admission full weekend tickets are valid from March 7-15 for SXSW 2025. 
  • All non-photo ticket holders will be required to carry photo ID, to identify themselves as the designated ticket holder.
  • Any tickets that are found to be offered for transfer or sale will be cancelled, and the ticket holders refused admission.
  • All tickets and passes for SXSW are strictly non-transferable, and therefore we would request that you ensure the non-transferability of tickets is explicit to all potential ticket holders. We strongly recommend keeping a contingency of your allocation in reserve for last minute guest changes.
  • You can read SXSW ticket terms and conditions for all ticket holders.
  • We will arrange delivery of both tickets to one address for the winner.
  • Lost or stolen tickets can not be replaced.
  • Prizes valued at $600 or more will be reported to the Internal Revenue Service ("IRS") as required by law. The winner must provide a completed IRS Form W-9 prior to receiving the prize. Octopus Energy will issue an IRS Form 1099-MISC for the value of the prize. Any federal, state, or local taxes associated with the prize are the sole responsibility of the winner.
