Why is there a fee for credit card payments?

Every time a credit card is used, banks charge a processing fee to handle the transaction. In the past, Octopus covered those costs, but to keep our electricity rates as fair and competitive as possible, we’ll now apply a 2% fee to payments using a credit card.

You can avoid the fee on future payments by paying with a bank account (ACH).
